Monad is a Layer 1 blockchain engineered to combine high speed, security, and full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility. Monad separates transaction consensus from execution. Nodes first determine the order of transactions and then execute them asynchronously, improving overall network efficiency and accelerating block finalization.
3.MonadDB: Efficient On-Chain Storage
To address blockchain state bloat, Monad introduces MonadDB. This SSD-based storage solution allows nodes to operate on standard hardware, reducing operational costs and lowering entry barriers for decentralized participation.
4.Consensus and Block Propagation Enhancements
Monad utilizes the MonadBFT consensus protocol to minimize forks and increase block stability. Combined with RaptorCast for fast block propagation and JIT compilation with pipelined processing, transaction execution is significantly accelerated without compromising decentralization.
Monad prioritizes speed, security, and decentralization. Its EVM compatibility enables developers to deploy Ethereum-based dApps directly, reducing cross-chain adaptation efforts. Lower hardware requirements empower more users to operate full nodes, advancing genuine decentralization and fostering Web3 ecosystem growth.
Monad’s native token, MON, is designed with decentralization and long-term network health in mind. The total supply is capped at 100 billion, with no pre-mining or private sales.
