Solana Foundation Chairman Lily Liu: Very optimistic about PayFi, but the track has not really landed yet.
Golden Finance reported that at the Consensus HK conference on February 19th, Lily Liu, the chair of the Solana Foundation, stated: PayFi's initial vision was a peer-to-peer electronic cash payment system, but it has always been synonymous with trading, that is, exchanging one Token for another. The original vision of PayFi was to facilitate payments in economic activities, i.e., exchanging Tokens for services. Currently, this vision has not been truly realized, possibly due to a lack of reform and infrastructure improvement. They believe that the application scenarios of PayFi are huge, it is the white whale of the crypto industry, which is not only a huge challenge but also an opportunity.
