Odaily News According to official news, the Babylon Genesis Chain will adopt a dual Virtual Machine model of EVM and CosmWasm:
CosmWasm (has launched mainnet) is used to develop secure and high-performance smart contracts for Bitcoin. Wasm smart contracts are written in Rust, which is a language that fully supports the Bitcoin core library;
EVM (to be added), has a rich and mature DeFi product ecosystem, a large user base, and a strong developer community.
Currently, the EVM promotion work of the Genesis Chain is underway, and the development network is already online. Once the test network is launched, the public test network endpoints will follow. The official statement indicates that the EVM integration plan will go live on the mainnet from the end of the third quarter to the beginning of the fourth quarter in 2025.
