Abstract generation in progress

MoonPay has just acquired Meso, a startup focused on connecting traditional finance with cryptocurrency, aiming to accelerate its journey to become a regulated global payment network. This deal adds an experienced leadership team and expands the infrastructure connecting banks, cards, stablecoins, and blockchain within a unified compliance framework.

Meso, founded in 2022 by Ali Aghareza and Ben Mills ( who previously worked at Braintree, Venmo, PayPal), focuses on self-custody of assets and developer-friendly APIs. After the acquisition, Aghareza assumed the role of CTO at MoonPay, while Mills took on the position of Senior Vice President in charge of product strategy.

This is the next step after MoonPay's acquisition of the Helio app and the Iron stablecoin infrastructure. Founded in 2019, MoonPay currently serves over 30 million customers and nearly 500 partners, positioning itself as a core cryptocurrency infrastructure provider.
